Sport Drinks!


Sports drinks hydrate and nourish your body during exercise and replenish lost fluids after exercise. In order to get the complete result of exercise, we must take fluids before, during and after exercise. Besides water they contain carbohydrates and electrolyte like sodium and potassium. The added carbohydrate fuels your muscles, and the sodium and potassium replaces losses from sweat. Diluted sweetened drinks will replace lost body fluids and provide energy, thus we must tae diluter sweetened drinks during our workout. The sodium also helps your body absorb and retain water and triggers your thirst mechanism to make you drink more water, this is stimulated by the electrolytic action performed by those sport drink. During exercise that is intense or lasts longer than 45 to 50 minutes, these drinks containing 6 to 8 percent carbohydrates are easily absorbed into our body and can provide energy to your working muscles that plain water cannot. Sports drinks are usually more helpful for longer periods of exercise but many people prefer them to water because they have more flavor. Some research has show that sports drinks help you to recover your fluid losses after exercise more quickly than water. Thus sport drink plays a major role in keeping our self in the right track.
